When adding fracions you have to have the denominators alike so in this case they both equal 24 evenly so 3/8 times 3/3 = 9/24, then 1/6 times 4/4 = 4/24. Now you take 9/24 + 4/24 and add straight across the top row (numerators).--->9+4 = 13 so 13/24
