    Since the base of a cylinder is a circle

    so area of base (circle) = 12pi sq. ft.

    Pi*r^2=12pi

    r^2=12

    r=squareroot12

    r=2squareroot3

    since volume of cylinder=48pi cubicft.

    pi*r^2*h=48pi

    r^2*h=48

    Putting value of r

    (2squareroot3) ^3*h=48

    4*3*h=48

    h=48/4*3

    h=4ft.

    So height of cylinder is 4ft.
