When a person uses an iron to remove the wrinkles from a shirt, why does heat travel from the iron to the shirt?

    A) Heat does not travel from lower temperatures to higher temperatures. Hopefully when it's hot in your room and you open your window, your room doesn't get even hotter.

    B) Heat does not in general travel to objects below it; if you put your hands over a fire, you'll eel the heat

    C) Likewise, heat does not in general travel to objects above it; put your hands under a hot plate, you'll feel its heat.

    D) That is the correct answer. As you can guess from your daily live, heat goes from hotter objects to colder objects.
