Steps
you have to apply the sum of cubes rule: x^3 + y^3 = (x + y) (x^2 - xy + y^2)
which is ... n^3 + 1000 = (n + 10) (n^2 - 10n + 10^2)
= (n + 10) (n^2 - 10n + 10^2)
Simplify
= (n = 10) (n^2 - 10n + 100)
