Answer: 20. First, distribute the 1/10 to inside the parenthesis. You will get 1/10x + 5 = - 3x-13+4x. Get all of the x variables on one side, so subtract 1/10x from both sides, and add like variables. You should now have 5 = 9/10x-13. Add 13 to both sides, then divide each side by 9/10. Your answer will be 20. Plug it back into x to check.
