A climber is on a hike. after 2 hours he is at an altitude of 400 feet. After 6 hours, he is at an altitude of of 700 feet. What is the average rate of change?

    To do this, we need to use the slope formula. This is the slope formula:

    (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

    This gives the average rate of change when the values are plugged in.

    (700-400) / (6-2)
