    My present age - x

    Mom's age - 2x + 12

    My age after 8 yrs - x + 8

    My mom's age after 8 years - 2x+20

    Equation formed-

    3 (x+8) - 20 = 2x+20

    3x + 24 - 20 = 2x + 20

    x = 20-4 = 16

    Therefore, my present age = x = 16 yrs

    And my mom's present age = 2x + 12 = 32+12 = 44.
