A shipment of 288 textbooks have been delivered. Each of the 10 classrooms will receive an equal share of the books, with any extra books being stored in the bookroom. After the texts have been distributed to the classrooms, how many will be stored in the bookroom?

    288/10=

    28 on each class room and 8 left over books in the storage room

    To get the result we have to divide 288 by 10 and reminder will be the result

    288:10=28.8

    Now we multiply 28*10=280

    288-280=8 - 8 books will be stored in the bookroom.
