A recipe calls for 3 1/4 cups of flour and 1 1/2 cups of sugar. If the recipe is doubled how much flour is required

    6 1/2 cups of flour.

    You multiply 3 1/4 by 2, which is 6 2/4 and then simplify the 2/4 to 1/2 (they are equivalent)
