In one U. S city the taxi cost is $4 plus $0.70 per mile. If you are traveling from the airport there is an additional charge of $6.00 for tolls. How far can you travel from the airport by taxi for $27.50?

    I think the answer is 25 miles.

    6+4+.7x = 27.50

    10+.70x = 27.50

    .70x = 17.50

    Divide both sides by. 7 and the answer is 25.
