Three eights of the students in Ms. Mull's class ride the bus. If there are 24 students in the class, how many students ride the bus? Explain how to use equivalent fraction to solve.

    3/8 (24 or 24/1)

    You would do keep, change, flip, or whatever you use for wording. That means instead of dividing you change it to multiplying and instead of 24/1 you would do 1/24.

    3/8 x 1/24 = 3/192

    Then simplify.

    3/192 to 1/64. I divided / siplified by three.

    So, that means 9 students rode the bus.
