    Rs 50,000

    Step-by-step explanation:

    40% = 0.4

    20% = 0.2

    Cost of Rs 400 tickets:

    250*400 = 100,000

    40% tax:

    40% of 100000 = 0.4*100000 = 40,000

    Cost of Rs 100 tickets:

    500*100 = 50,000

    20% tax:

    20% of 50000 = 10,000

    Total tax = 40,000 + 10,000 = 50,000

    Alternately,

    0.4 (250) (400) + 0.2 (500) (100)

    = 50000

Rs 50,000 is the tax collected
