In a vase, the ratio of rose to daisies is 3:4, and the ratio of daisies to tulips is 5:6. If there are 48 tulips, how many rose are there?

    There are 48 tulips.

    Daisies : tulips ratio is 5 : 6

    ->proportion goes

    X (daisies) : 5 (daisies ratio) = 48 (tulips) : 6 (tulip ratio)

    ->X=5*48/6=40 daisies

    ->roses: daisies ratio is 3 : 4

    ->proportion goes

    X (roses) : 3 (rose ratio) = 40 (daisies) : 4 (daisies ratio)

    ->X=3*40/4=30 roses
