If there are 6 egg cartons that are filled with eggs and there is a 7th egg carton that has 7 eggs, how many eggs are there in total, if each egg carton holds 12 eggs?

    6 x 12 = 72

    72 + 7 = 79

    First, the 6 egg cartons each have 12 eggs (6*12=72). Now the last carton has only 7 eggs in it so you just have to add 72+7=79 eggs in total.
