Describe and correct the error in writing the verbal sentence as an equation or an inequality.

the quotient of a number t and 4.2 is at most 15

4/4.2 > 15

I'm pretty sure the problem with this answer is the greater than symbol and it just has to be the less than but not sure?

The error with this inequality is that they had used a > (greater than) symbol instead of ≤ (less than or equal to) symbol. With this verbal sentence, "is at most 15" implies that while the quotient can be 15, it cannot be greater than that.

    The correct inequality is: t : 4.2 ≤ 15.
