A rational number is a number that can be written in the form a/b where b ≠0
so to find the number between, that means average
to find, add them together and divide by 2 so
5/16+7/8
make common denomenator (bottom number)
factor
16=2 times 2 times 2 times 2
8=2 times 2 times 2
greatest common multiple=2 times 2 times 2 times 2=16
7/8 times 2/2=14/16
5/16+14/16=19/16
divide by 2 = times 1/2
19/16 times 1/2=19/32
the number is 19/32
