The measures of the 3 sides of a triangle can be represented by algebraic expressions x, 3x-1, and 4x+2. the perimeter of the triangle is 81inches. What are the lengths of the sides of the triangle?

    X + 3x - 1 + 4x + 2 = 81

    (add all the like terms)

    8x + 1 = 81

    8x = 81 - 1

    8x = 80

    x = 80/8

    x = 10
