    Perimeter is found by multiplying the length by 2 and adding it to the width multiplied by 2.

    The formula is P = 2L + 2W

    The length is 2m more than the width, which would be written as W + 2

    Now the formula is P = 2 (W+2) + 2W

    Replace P with the given perimeter and solve:

    48 = 2 (W+2) + 2W

    Simplify:

    48 = 2W + 4 + 2W

    48 = 4W + 4

    Subtract 4 from both sides:

    44 = 4W

    Divide both sides by 4:

    W = 11

    Now you have the width solve for the length.

    Length = Width + 2 = 11 + 2 = 13

    Check: 2 (11) + 2 (13) = 22 + 26 = 48

    This works out to be true.

    Length = 13 m

    Width = 11 m
