    1 yard

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let b represent the amount of blue fabric and r represent the amount of red fabric.

    Given;

    Jessi has 9 feet of blue fabric

    b = 9 ft

    She need one third of that amount in red fabric.

    r = 1/3 * b

    Substituting the value of b;

    The amount of red fabric needed r is;

    r = 1/3 * 9 = 3 ft

    Since they sell in yards, we need to convert it to yards.

    1 yard = 3 feets

    Therefore,

    r = 3 ft * 1/3 yard per ft

    r = 1 yard
