    Answer

The student ate 72ounces of fruit snacks

    Explanation

If there are 20packs of fruit snacks in a box and each pack weighs 6 ounces, the total weight of 20packs will be 20*6 = 120ounces

If there are 48 ounces of fruit snacks left in the box after student has eaten some, the amount of ounces of fruit eaten by the student will be:

Total number of ounces of 20packs - weight of left over snacks

    = 120-48

    = 72ounces
