    Area = 100 ft²

    Area = l * w

    Since you know it is a square than the sides are all equal. So the length and width are the same measurement. What two numbers when multiplied together equals 100? In order to find the answer you could do the square root of 100 which would give you 10.

    So you know that each side is 10 feet. Using that you multiply 10 by 4because there are 4 sides in a square to get 40. This means that she will need 40 feet of fencing to enclose the garden.

    Answer: 40 feet
