He is given 3 slices which together weights 1/3 of a pound, but his diet says that he is only allowed to eat 1/4 of a pound. how much of the 3 slices he bought can he eat while staying true to his to his athletes diet

    He can eat 2, or more exactly, he can eat 2 pieces and 1/4 of a slice because each slice is equal to 4/36 of a pound and 1/4 is equal to 9/36. So you divide the two factors 9/36 divided by 4/36 making 2 1/4.
