A cardboard storage carton has a length of 3 feet a width of 2 feet and a volume of 12 ft3. what is the minimum amount of cardboard needed to make the box?

    V=lwh

    v=12

    l=3

    w=2

    h=h

    12=3*2*h

    12=6*h

    divide both sides by 6

    2=h

    surface aera=2 (LW+LH+WH)

    L=3

    w=2

    h=2

    SA=2 (3*2+3*2+2*2)

    SA=2 (6+6+4)

    SA=2 (16)

    SA=32

    minium is 32 ft²
