    You should put - 6x under the 9X and 6X. So the 6X cancels out, then you would do - 1Y or - Y on both sides, - Y cancels out that. So your left with 15X = 5Y

    y = 3x

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given

    9x - y = - 6x + 4y (subtract 4y from both sides)

    9x - 5y = - 6x (subtract 9x from both sides)

    - 5y = - 15x (divide both sides by - 5)

    y = 3x
