What is the explicit formula for this sequence - 5, - 3,-1,1,3 ...

    These numbers are increasing by 2 for each n.

    The explicit formula for a sequence should read:

    an = a1 + d (n - 1)

    If d=2, the explicit formula would read:

    an = a1 + 2 (n - 1)
