    75 miles

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Distance Traveled at first 60 min.

    let distance be d1, speed be d1 and time be t1

    d1 = ?

    t1 = 60 min = 1 hr

    s1 = 40mil/hr.

    d1 = t1 * s1

    d1 = 1 * 40

    d1 = 40 miles

    Part 2

    distance = d2 = ?

    speed = s2 = 70 mil/hr

    time = t2 = 30 min = 0.5 hr

    d2 = t2 * s2

    d2 = 0.5 * 70

    d2 = 35 miles

    Total distance Traveled = d1 + d2

    40 + 35 = 75 miles
