    The solution set is {-12,2}.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    We have given a quadratic equation.

    x² + 10x = 24

    We have to find the solution of above equation by completing square.

    Adding (5) ² to both sides of above equation, we have

    x²+10 + (5) ² = 24 + (5) ²

    (x+5) ² = 24+25

    (x+5) ² = 49

    Taking square root to both sides of above equation, we have

    x+5 = ±7

    x+5 = 7 or x+5 = - 7

    x = 7-5 or x = - 7-5

    x = 2 or x = - 12

    Hence, the solution set is {-12,2}.
