A. The weight of a stack of paper is 8.5 x 11 copier vs. the number of sheets of paper

B. The weight of a stack of different sized books vs. the number of books in the stack.

    Since, all the paper has same dimensions, there weight will be same and we can easily find the number of papers using direct proportion.

    So, the weight of the copies and the number of papers is proportional.

    B. We have that the weight of each book is different.

    Since, all the books have different weights, we cannot easily find the number of papers using direct proportion.

    So, the weight of the books and the number of books is not proportional.
