Ed's car can travel 93.5 miles on 4.25 gallons of gas. How far can the car travel on 1 gallon of gas?

    22 You start out knowing with 4.25 miles he can travel 93.5 miles. If you make that a fraction, it would be 93.5/4.25. Since you have to figure out how far he can travel for 1 gallon, you have to divide the 4.25 gallons by itself. This is because you want there to be one gallon, and if you have 4.25 gallons, dividing by it self will give you 1. What you do to one number, you have to do to the other so you do 93.5/4.25 which gives you 22/1 or 22.
