    two consecutive even numbers: 2n and 2n+2

    2n+2 (2n+2) = 100

    2n+4n+4=100

    6n=100-4

    6n=96

    n=96/6

    n=16

    the smaller number: 2n=2 (16) = 32

    the greater number: 2n+2=2 (16) + 2 = 34

    Ans. 32 and 34
