If you want to evaluate 8*d - 10 and you know the value of the d (in this case it is 4), you just have to insert the number 4 instead of the d.
So, 8*d - 10 equals to 8*4 - 10. Now, you have to multiply 8 and 4 and you get 32. In the last step you have to subtract 10 from 32; 32 - 10 = 22.
The correct result is 22.
