What is the solution to the equation? 16 = (x-2) ^2/3

    2^4 = (x - 2) ^ (2/3) Multiply the powers on both sides by 3/2

    2^ (4*3/2) = (x - 2) ^ [ (2/3) * (3/2) ]

    2^6 = (x - 2) ^1

    2^6 = (x - 2)

    but 2^6 = 64

    64 = (x - 2) Remove the brackets.

    64 = x - 2 Add 2 to both sides.

    66 = x
