The length of a room is 19 1/2 feet. When using 1 / 4 inch = 1 foot scale, what would be the length of the wall on a floor plan?

    5 inches. once you divide 19 into 4 sections you have 16 feet used up with 3 feet and 1/2 a foot left to simplify. these 3 feet will equal 3/4 an inch and the half a foot will equate to half of the fourth inch (2/8). we add the 4 from simplifying to 16, add 3/4 an inch or 6/8 from the 3 feet, then add 2/8 from the half foot. this will equal 5 inches.
