    3 (2x - 1) ² - 5 (4x + 1) ²

    3 (2x - 1) (2x - 1) - 5 (4x + 1) (4x + 1)

    3 (2x (2x - 1) - 1 (2x - 1)) - 5 (4x (4x + 1) + 1 (4x + 1))

    3 (2x (2x) - 2x (1) - 1 (2x) + 1 (1)) - 5 (4x (4x) + 4x (1) + 1 (4x) + 1 (1))

    3x (4x² - 2x - 2x + 1) - 5 (16x² + 4x + 4x + 1)

    3x (4x² - 4x + 1) - 5 (16x² + 8x + 1)

    3x (4x²) - 3x (4x) + 3x (1) - 5 (16x²) - 5 (8x) - 5 (1)

    12x³ - 12x² + 3x - 80x² - 40x - 5

    12x³ - 12x² - 80x² + 3x - 40x - 5

    12x³ - 92x² - 37x - 5
