    We know that the square pool has area 8 m^2 what we can get it than this square pool has a side length of sqrt8 = 2sqrt2 m

    - increasing the length by 2 m will be the length = 2sqrt2 + 2 = 2 (sqrt2 + 1) m

    - decreasing the width by 2m will be the width 2sqrt2 - 2 = 2 (sqrt2 - 1) m

    so than what is the question or just these all?

    Side = 8m

    He increases length by 2m and reduces width by 2m

    (a.) New dimensions will be -

    Length = 10m and Width = 6m

    (b.) Area = length x breadth (or width)

    here we will use the special product (x+y) (x-y)

    length = (x+y) and width = (x-y)

    area = (8+2) x (8-2)

    8^ (2) - 2^ (2)

    = 60
