A 1 liter jar is filled with water right to the top. A rock is then dropped in the jar and 400 mL of water is displaced (pushed out). What is the volume of the rock?

    The rock will only displace the same amount of water that the rock's volume is.

    1 mL = 1 cm^3

    400mL = 400 cm^3

    The answer is 400 cm^3
