Children of age 3-6 years require 25% less sleep per day than infants, who need 16hours. How much slee do the 3-6 year olds need?

    Infants need 16 hrs ... children of age 3 - 6 require 25% less ...

    16 - 0.25 (16) = 16 - 4 = 12 hrs <=

    16 * 0.25 = 4

    16 - 4 = 12

    So therefore, 3-6 year old aneed 12 hours of sleep.

    Or you could solve it this way:

    100 - 0.25 = 0.75

    16 * 0.75 = 12

    Either of the two ways you would get 12
