A plumber finished there jobs on Tuesday. The first two only cost the owner the $45 trip fee because they book very little to complete. For the third job, the plumber charged the trip fee plus 6 times his hourly rate. If the plumber received a total of $303 for the day, what is the hourly rate

    The plumber's hourly rate is $43. To come to this answer, I first subtracted the $45 fee from 303. That answer was 258, which I divided by 6, because that was the number of hours the plumber worked. That answer was 43, so his hourly rate is $43.
