The function f (x) = x^2 has been translated 9 units up and 4 units to the right to form the function g (x). Which represents g (x) ?

g (x) = (x + 9) ^2 + 4

g (x) = (x + 9) ^2 - 4

g (x) = (x - 4) ^2 + 9

g (x) = (x + 4) ^2 + 9

    Hello,

    This is one way:

    The vertex is (4,9)

    1) g (4) = (4+9) ²+4=13²+4≠9

    2) g (4) = (4+9) ²-4=13²-4≠9

    3) g (4) = (4-4) ²+9=0²+9=9 yes!

    4) g (4) = (4+4) ²+9=8²+9≠9
