    48 sodas

    Ratio of diet to regular = 6:2 = 3:1

For every 3 diet sodas sold, there was one regular soda sold

    36/3 = 12

    36:12 = 6:2 = 3:1

36 diet sodas and 12 regular sodas were sold

    36+12=48

48 total sodas were sold that day

48 is total sold sodas because 36 (the diets) + 12 which is the regular sodas there is one third of the regular sodas
