There are 112 seats in the school Auditorium. There are7 seats in each row. There are 70 people seated filling up full rows of seats. How many rows are empty?

    7 per row

    solve for number of rows

    112 divided by 7 yeilds # of rows=16

    70 people come and sit

    divide 70 by 7 to get # rows occupied

    70/7=10

    16-10=6

    6 rows are empty
