    Answer: initial amount = 93.75 Step-by-step explanation: Initial amount with the man = x After his first visit to temple, his money gets doubled, So now, present money that the man has = 2x after he gives 100 back to the temple, money left with the man = 2x - 100 This happened 3 more times, So money after 2nd visit = 2 (2x - 100) = 4x - 200 money after giving 100 to the temple = 4x - 200 - 100 = 4x - 300 So money after 3rd visit = 2 (4x - 300) = 8x - 600 money after giving 100 to the temple = 8x - 600 - 100 = 8x - 700 So money after 4th visit = 2 (8x - 700) = 16x - 1400 money after giving 100 to the temple = 16x - 1400 - 100 = 16x - 1500 Now, at the end of day, he is left with 0 money which means that, 16x - 1500 = 0 16x = 1500 x = 93.75
