    Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

    Answer: 7/8 * (145) ^ (1/2)

    Discussion:

    The distance from (-4,5) to (-3, - 7) is

    the square root of (-4 - (-3)) ^2 + (5 - (-7)) ^2 or

    the square root of (-4 + 3) ^2 + (5+7) ^2 or

    the square root of (-1) ^2 + (12) ^2 or the

    the square root of 1 + 144 = 145

    7/8 of this distance is 7/8 * (145) ^ (1/2)

where ^ (1/2) indicates the square root of the quantity (145 in this case)

    Regards, MrB
