    Comedies = 12

    Not comedies = 11 + 14 = 25

    Odds against selecting a comedy = 25 : 12

    Answer: 25 : 12

    40 plays: 12 comedies, 13 tragedies, and 15 histories

    If one play is selected at random:

    P (not selecting a tragedy) = 27/40

    odds against selecting a tragedy are: 27:13 40-27+=+13
