    We should expect 6766 students to come directly from a high school

    Step-by-step explanation:

    This problem can be solved using a direct rule of three.

    Initially, we have to identify the measures in the problem. Then, we have to identify the relationship between them, whether they are direct or inverse.

    When they have a direct relationship, as the value of one measure increases, the value of the other measure decreases. Otherwise, when their relationship is inverse, as the value of one of the measures increase, the value of the other will decrease.

    Here, our measures are:

    - The total number of students

    - The number of students that come directly from high schools.

    We should expect that as the total number of students increase, so will the number of students that come directly from high schools. So the relationship between these measures is direct.

    We have that for 100 students, 39 come directly from high schools.

    So:

    100 students - 39 from high school

    17,350 students - x from high school

    x = 17,350*39/100 = 6766.5

    So we should expect 6766 students to come directly from a high school
