    the y intercept is where the graph intercepts the y axis or where x=0

    replace y with 0 and solve for x

    -3x+4 (0) = - 36

    -3x=-36

    divide - 3 both sides

    x=12

    xintercept=12

    yintercept

    replace x with 0 and solve for y

    -3 (0) + 4y=-36

    4y=-36

    divide both sides by 4

    y=-9

    xint=12

    yint=-9
