Fist you have to make the denominators the same so you can multiple it to be the same 8 x 3 = 24 so you have to x's the same for the numerator so it would be 9/24 and 5/24. 9/24 + 5/24 = 14/24 simplest form is 7/12

Incomplete question.
3/8 + 5/24 = Wherr 24 is common. then numerator is (3*3 + 5). denominator is 24
14/24 = 7/12.
3/8 * 5/24 = 3*5=15, 8*24 = 196
