To answer this, you will set up a system of equations that represent the situation.

    First:

    1 - 3/8 = 5/8 left after planting coconuts

    Second:

    4/5 of 5/8

    4/5 x 5/8 = 1/2 of it has bananas

    1 - 3/8 - 1/2 = 1/8 left with rice

    2.5 acres is 1/8 of it, so 3/8 would be 3 groups of 1/8 or 3 groups of 2.5 (3 x 2.5 = 7.5 acres).

    7.5 acres have coconuts

    4/8 is 1/2 so 4 groups of 2.5 = 10 acres

    10 acres have bananas.
