    first: (add apples and bananas)

    1 5/8 + 2 3/16 = 1 10/16 + 2 3/16 = 3 13/16

second: (total - apples and bananas to find grapefruit)

    7 1/2 - 3 13/16 = 7 8/16 - 3 13/16 = 6 24/16 - 3 13/16 = 3 14/16 = 3 7/8

    Grapefruit weight 3 7/8 lbs
