    14 + 3x = 2 + 5x + 4

    Combine like terms

    14 + 3x = 6 + 5x

    Subtract 6 on both sides

    8 + 3x = 5x

    Subtract 3x on both sides

    8 = 2x

    Divided 2 on both sides

    x = 4

    x=4

    Step-by-step explanation:

    14+3x=2+5x+4

    Combine like terms

    14 + 3x = 5x+6

    Subtract 3x from each side

    14+3x-3x = 5x-3x+6

    14 = 2x+6

    Subtract 6 from each side

    14-6 = 2x+6-6

    8 = 2x

    Divide each side by 2

    8/2 = 2x/2

    4 = x
